One Entry Point, Two Wildlife Problems: Mice and Bats

As temperatures drop, wildlife looks for warm, sheltered places to escape the cold. Your attic can be the perfect spot, especially when there are small openings along the roofline, soffits, or other exterior areas of your home.

During a recent bat exclusion project, we installed a one-way bat cone to allow bats to safely leave the attic without getting back inside. While monitoring the opening, we discovered something else: a mouse was using that same entry point!

Why Wildlife Entry Points Matter

This is a great example of why identifying and addressing wildlife entry points is so important. An opening that allows bats to enter and exit can also provide access for mice and other small animals.

Simply addressing the animal you hear in your attic may not solve the entire problem. A thorough wildlife inspection helps identify potential entry points and determine what repairs are needed to keep unwanted visitors out.
